ACADEMIC TEAM SUCCESS AT AURORA TOURNAMENT; NEXT STOP TIPPECANOE!

OFHS Academic Team dresses for success at Halloween Weekend Tournament in Aurora.

The OFHS Academic Team “invaded” Aurora High School last Saturday for their annual Early Bird Open Tournament.  The OFHS A-Team came away with a first place finish in their bracket and a spot in the Regional Tournament.  The B-Team finished second in their bracket behind a strong Hudson team.  It was a fun tournament since it was Halloween weekend and players were encouraged to come in costume!  This was an OAC tournament where individual stats are not kept, however, collectively, the A-Team had the highest cumulative point total of the entire tournament.

This week, the team travels to Tippecanoe High School located in Tipp City, Ohio (near Dayton).  It will be a challenging tournament since there will be teams from Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, and Indiana in attendance. Good luck Bulldogs!

Congratulations to Coach Ryan, his coaching staff, and the Bulldog football team. What an accomplishment.

After starting the season 1-3 and then winning six in a row and winning the SWC championship, we are all very proud of you and wish you success in the playoffs.

At what grade do the students of OFCS take typing lessons? Is it available for students attending Falls-Lenox? Thanks!

From volleyball to football, this is an exciting fall to live in Olmsted Township/Falls. It is wonderful to imagine what the atmosphere is within the schools and district office. Tuesday’s election reminds me how grateful I am of the collective effort of teachers, students, and voters last winter to support OFCSD. But my fleeting thought last week was – what if we were in the boat with North Olmsted right now – it catches your breath maybe more so in light of student athletes’ accomplishments. For the sacrifices that teachers, and taxpayers make so students do not have to (and I don’t just mean on the field) – it is pretty awesome to hail from 44138.

And I’m not just saying that because 2-3 of you call my house every year looking for Coach Ryan. To everyone who handed out a flyer at a game last year, carried a bucket, organized an event, or mailed in a ballot – thanks again.
