The second half of the school year offers a variety of outstanding music events!  Be sure to mark your calendars and come see our talented students in the following performances:

FALLS-LENOX CELEBRATES DISABILITY AWARENESS WEEK

Students at Falls-Lenox celebrated Disability Awareness Week with a variety of special activities and events.   A grade level Poster Contest was held and winners were featured on this week’s morning show. 

Congratulations to the following students who were selected as winners for their great posters:

First grade – Hadley Allen and Kayla Bauer

Second grade – Riley Orellano and Ethan Royal

Third grade – Paige Chernisky and Gabrielle Masola

In addition, thanks to funds provided by the Falls-Lenox/ECC PTA, all students were treated to a special assembly featuring a ventriloquist show with an entertaining and educational message to go along with the theme of the week.  Many thanks to PTA, School Pyschologist Mrs. Robin Scott, and the Falls-Lenox staff and students for making this a great week!

OFMS WAS THE FOX 8 “COOL SCHOOL” LAST WEEK! CHECK OUT THE REPORT FROM FOX!

Bring your sense of humor to OFHS Masquers and Forensics’ COMEDY NIGHT on Friday, January 20th at 8:00 p.m.!!

EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER CURRENTLY SCHEDULING TYPICAL PEER PLAY DAYS FOR JANUARY 20TH & 27TH

DON’T MISS THE FALLS-LENOX/ECC JANUARY PTA MEETING – NEXT TUESDAY, JAN. 24TH

Ever hear the old nursery rhyme….don’t let the bedbugs bite?  Well, bedbugs are alive and well in Northeast Ohio, and across the country.  F-L/ECC PTA is offering a presentation on how to avoid getting bedbugs, and what to do if your household does get them.  The presentation is open to all, you do not have to be a PTA member to attend.

Do you know a PTA volunteer or school staff member who has been an outstanding part of your child’s school year so far? *Would you like the opportunity to recognize the contributions and special qualities of one of your child’s teachers or a fellow educator?

JANUARY 30th HIGH SCHOOL PTA MEETING FEATURES DISABILITY AWARENESS DISCUSSION

Are you a parent of a student with a disability? Would you like your student to be involved and/or participate in an organized school group/club? Are you looking for a support group to help answer your questions, give potential suggestions, and possibly socialize with? If you are interested in discussing similar topics, please plan to attend the High School PTA meeting on Monday, January 30th in the High School Library Media Center at 7:00 p.m. High School Counselors Sherry Davis and Lisa Meinhardt, and High School art teacher Mariel Krakowiak, will speak to the group on this important topic.  Parents of students with disabilities as well as parents of typical students are encouraged to attend.  Parents of younger students not yet in high school are also invited and encouraged to attend.  If you cannot attend the meeting please contact Mariel Krakowiak, high school teacher and a parent of a child with special needs (mkrakowiak@ofcs.net).  For additional information, please click here.

POST SECONDARY OPTION INFORMATION MEETING FOR HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS

Save the Date – Thursday, February 2nd at 7:00 p.m. in the HS Auditorium!  Post Secondary Option Information meeting for parents and students interested in college courses for credit while in high school.  (For current 8th-11th grade students.)   Please contact the OFHS Counseling Department at 427-6116 with questions.  We hope to see you there!

FALLS-LENOX PLANNING FAMILY LITERACY NIGHTS

Attn:  Falls-Lenox Families!  Mark your calendars for the following Literacy Nights:

First Grade – Thursday, February 2nd

Second Grade – Thursday, February 23rd

Third Grade – Thursday, March 15th  

All Literacy Nights will take place from 6:00-7:45 p.m.  and promise to be fun and engaging evenings for the children and their families.  Watch for additional information! 

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES/EVENTS:

SPRING SOCCER REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Olmsted Falls Soccer Association has OPENED soccer registration for the Spring Session. The cost is $60.00 for the first player, $50.00 for the second player and $40.00 for the third player. You can register by either attending our in person registration on Wednesday, January 25, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Olmsted Falls High School cafeteria or by going to our website http://olmstedsoccer.wordpress.com/ . We have improved the online registration and encourage you to use it. You can use your PayPal account to pay for your registration.   The cut off for registrations is Feb 28th. Any registrations received after that date will be charged an additional $10.00, please don’t be late.
