BOWLING TEAM ACHIEVEMENTS!

KATZBECKERThe high school bowling team continues to enjoy a fantastic season, and the individual efforts of two bowlers over the past two weeks are illustrative.  On January 26, junior Paul Katz (pictured at left) bowled a 742 series in the morning in a junior varsity match against St. Edward.  Then just a few hours later, he bowled 725 as a member of the Olmsted Falls Blue team in the Roseland Lanes Invitational Tournament.  He missed high series in the tournament, which was won by the Olmsted Falls Gold team, by just one pin.  He was named bowler of the week on January 31 by the Plain Dealer.  Not to be outdone, the following week in his final regular season varsity match on February 2, senior Danny Becker (pictured at right) rolled a 791 series, breaking the school record and tying for the 8th best series in the history of the Greater Cleveland Interscholastic League, which dates to 1940.  At one point Danny rolled 20 consecutive strikes.  He was also named Plain Dealer Bowler of the Week on February 7.
